I cannot say

by Jason Vonderheid

What is this

The sound that hits me

It dig deep and bleeds

I cannot say

What I feel

How can I tell

How it feels

I cannot say

What is this

The sound that’s still here

It dig deep and bleeds

I cannot say

What I feel

How can I tell

How it feels

I cannot say

As I stared

Outside his door

The windows locked

There’s no way in

I cannot say

What I feel

How can I tell

How it feels

I cannot say

This song “I cannot say” are launched in two scenes at Laundry Teddy, the first scene is with Lauren holding the bleach containers that Clarisse forced her to take, and the second scene is Drew singing this song to Lauren, when both of them knew who Clifford truly is, but they can’t just say this to Teddy as they both realized that they wronged Teddy, they technically became outsiders in Teddy’s life. This is a beautiful song that talks about internal turmoils and emotional struggles that’s so frustrating, leaving one with no option but to maintain one’s silence. Those two scenes are tough moments for Drew and Lauren.
