Time is a cruel friend

by Jason Vonderheid

Time is a cruel friend

Look at what he did

He made me old

When you’re old

It gets cold

Everyone is gone

Even love is done

Time is a cruel friend

Look at what he did

He made me old

I was once young

Bubbly and flirty

Life of the party

Everyone’s eyes are on me

I command the entire room

I can choose

Who will win or

who will lose

When you’re young

Everything springs

Everyone surrounds you

Every love is a game

You can play

You can slay

Or have it all your way

When you’re old

It gets cold

Everyone is gone

Even love is done

Time is a cruel friend

Look at what he did

He made me old

I wrote this song for Ashton, this will appear on the first scene, he’s at the bathroom of his nursing home room, and Nurse Pam gave him a hard time, by insulting him and literally being rough on him, as she scrubs his back with this rough wash cloth. So Ashton stares at the mirror and starts to sing “Time is a cruel friend” This song few scenes later are carried by Instructor Libby, the Nursing teacher of Caleb and Rose. Both scenes are important as in the first scene, Ashton opens up and technically told everyone how he really feels, that he missed being young and he feels that time betrayed him, which was again explained by Instructor Libby to her Nursing students on day one of their rotation at Ashton’s Nursing home. But as Instructor Libby sings the song, Ashton was there interacting and connecting with Caleb at the emotional level. To check out the script section it’s at BL Scripts. Right now I’m in the process of redoing the script for Pop His Pill, so the launched script are not yet reviewed and updated. But I will get to that in the coming weeks. And then we will be right on track again.
