SCENE 7: THE JEALOUS CAPTAIN

INT. CAPTAIN KLAUS BEDROOM-NIGHT

Mark slowly enters Captain Klaus bedroom with his ripped clothes and bloodied face. The Captain was at his bed reading a book. Upon seeing Mark, Captain Klaus immediately got up and dropped the book by his bed.

CAPTAIN KLAUS

Mark

MARK

Captain.

CAPTAIN KLAUS

Are you ok? Here.

(Hands his prisoner

uniform as he wipes

the blood from

Mark’s lips with

his handkerchief)

Sorry.

MARK

(Removes the stained

clothes and change into

his prisoner’s uniform)

Do you want me to

sleep at the floor?

Captain Klaus held Mark’s hand and led him to bed.

CAPTAIN KLAUS

This is where you

belong. Next to me.

MARK

Thank you Captain.

Mark lays down on his side, Captain Klaus hugs him as he wraps his body around him.

CAPTAIN KLAUS

I don’t know how long

this war will last,

how many more will die.

We are all victims

that history will judge in

future years.

The stars are not lining up

for the likes of me.

I will be haunted down

by savage dogs eager to

grab whatever piece

is left. But you Mark,

will survive. Your story

will be told and remembered,

while mine will be buried,

never be told again.

MARK

How can I survive

when I barely died in

that room.

CAPTAIN KLAUS

Sorry, it’s my fault.

They learned about you

leaving me with no choice

but to share you

in return for their silence.

The two officers are like me,

they’re like us.

We’re at war. Information like

this can cause life.

There are others like us,

hiding under their carefully tucked

uniform ironed by their wives or

girlfriends waiting to be

asked for their hand in marriage.

MARK

Captain what will happen

to me?

CAPTAIN KLAUS

I don’t know. They will surely

comeback, probably bring others.

MARK

You said, I will survive,

how?

CAPTAIN KLAUS

Because you have me.

No prisoners can say that

here, right now.

I will protect you, even if

sometimes, we have to lose

like tonight.

MARK

We?

CAPTAIN KLAUS

I like you. Do you like me?

MARK

I’m your prisoner,

marked with pink.

CAPTAIN KLAUS

In this room, nobody’s

a prisoner, nobody’s marked

with pink.

There’s no war, just love,

just us.

Captain Klaus kissed Mark who slowly responded to his kiss, their kiss intensifies.
